Hello, Im a A level photography student and this is my photography blog. Throughout this blog will be various different posts links to my units. My first unit is all about seasons.
Seasons
My initial interest in my topic was to explore each of the four seasons, we experience throughout the year. I started this topic in the summer holidays by taking various different photos to symbolise the summer season. Throughout the holiday I started to collect various different shoot which different twists to them like my Wet summer shoot because this shoot was all about exposing the reality of British summer time instead of the distorted expectation of the weather we expect at this time. One of my most inspirational photographers from this unit is called Pep Ventosa, which I have use for my Passing of Time shoot in my autumn season. The reason why Ventosa is inspirational to me is because I feel his Round the tree collection was different and unique and explore an unexpected aspect of the environment trees live in. Also I liked how he presents his work because he has blended multiple images together to create one whole image and it was this technique that I decided to use for my Passing of Time shoot. This is because I feel like this style is very different from my other shoots I have done.
Over time I feel like my work has developed from simple ideas to more thoughtful and creative ones. This is because I have thought carefully about what really happens during these seasons? And what do people symbolise with them? This then leads me to come up with idea to involve worldwide celebration like Halloween from autumn and Christmas for winter.
