Pep Ventosa is a Photographer who was born In Vilafranca del Penedès 1957. His life long passion for photography began with his first camera at the age of 10. He learnt the mechanics of the dark room in an art school and taught himself the possibilities of a new digital dark room. His work if focusing on an exploration of the medium itself deconstructing and reconstructing photographic images to create a new visual experiences. In his collection Trees, In The Round is multiple shoots of each tree which were taken while walking around in a circle, then blended together and reworked to discover what becomes the orbit of the tree and its environment around it.

This is one of his photos called Potrero Hill, seven, taken from his collection called In The Round Tree. What I like about this photo is how unusual it looks compared to other artists images of trees. Also I enjoy the fact that you can just see some blurry image that is then question the view, as to what it is? All because after a few layers the object starts to become distorted. By only adding one bright colour (red) to the main focus (tree leaves) make the image stand out and draw attention to itself. Therefore by having a strong focal point mean that the composition of the image comes easy to the eye. This is because your eyes automatically focus of the red tree in the centre third, then they slowly move to glance at what is around the tree e.g. the cars at the bottom third and the various line across the top third of the photo. The reason why Ventosa decided to use the colour red to represent the leaves is because this image could of been taken around the beginning of autumn, where the leaves are transitioning in colour.

His style of work from this collection links well with my Autumn Trees because I have also take multiple shoots of one objects, and blended them together to create an interesting piece of work. Even through our ideas are similar but are different because I have taken photos of my tree every other day, whether Vensona has taken his by walking around it taken multiple shoots in one day. The reason why we have collected our photos in different ways is because both our aims are different. My aim is to document a tree transform at the beginning to the end of Autumn. But Vensona aim was to create an orbit around the tree.
