Peter Keetman was an eminent German photographer during the 1950s- 1960s. His work was representative of abstract and experimental imagery. One of his well-known pieces of work was called "Reflecting drops" which then created an impression of a graphic print. Keetman's images has a strong understanding of photography as an artistic form of expression. He had many photography series stand industrial motifs and of urban views, taking an equal place alongside pictures of nature and landscape.

Trister Bahnhof is one of his black and whites pieces of work which was taken in 1954. What I like about this photo is that it makes the viewer think what Keetman wanted the main focus to be. if you take a small glance at the photo you assume that the main focus is the small raindrops scattered all over the window. But if you decide to take another look at it you start to realise that there is more to the photos than the raindrops because you can see the two people, what look to be a couple, standing next to a lamppost in the background. another reason why I like this image so much is because he has chosen to publish the photo in black and white. by opting for this choice of colour will then help the view to notice to people in the background. This is because black and white are high contracting tones, which then means that with these colour you can clearly see the detail more clearly than you can in colour.
This work by Keetman is similar to my Wet Summer shoot because in my shoot I have used the rain and how I have edited it as a main factor in having an effect on my viewer.
