Wet Summer

This is my first shoot taken particularly for this theme of seasons. It was taken at the very beginning of summer, and by looking at these photos I have manage to capture what the British summertime truly looks like every year.
Instead of laid inside my toasty home all wrapped up taking every possible moment to not step outside in the blistering winds and the heavy downpour. it was at this point where I foolishly decided to wrap up warm, put on the thickest coat I could find, grab my camera and an umbrella (of course) to venture outside.
First, I started by taking pictures of the leaves and plant in the back garden before they where destroyed by the strong wings.

Here is one, of my many photos from this shoot. A leaf with perfectly formed water droplets resting nicely on top of the leaf like it was made to be photographed. This style of work links well which the German photographer Peter Keetman because some of his work is based of raindrops just like the photos from my shoot.

This photo, to the right is the exact same photo as the one above but the only difference is I have edited it to really make to detail stand out. The reason why I have decided to opt for this effect is because I feel it will really capture the emotion I want the viewer to experience when gazing at this photo. By having a dull and dark effect on this image will create negative feelings in the readers mind like depression and sadness. the reason why I want to create these specific types of feelings is because people these days generally associate summertime as a time to be joyful and happy. A time which gives them the chance to get outside and enjoy the sun beaming heavily down on them. However on this particular day people of Britain did not feel happy or joyful but instead they felt miserable and fed up, fed up of always having the same weather day in day out.
Therefore, by editing my photo to match these types of emotions will then make my viewer relate to this photo more because it will make them remember back to a time when it last rained and make them think about how it made them feel.

To take this shoot to the next level I manage to discover an old suitcase, which was laid on the ground covered from head to toe in cobb webs and dust; along with the heavy downpour to make it a soggy mess by the time I got round to it. But on the whole, I decided that I can make use of this ancient suitcase one last time. So along with my sunglasses and this broken suitcase I manage to take some interesting photos.

Here is one of my favourite photos from this shoot, edited. With the editing I have manage to make the faded black more darker by adjusting the contrast. For the rain drop that are gathered along the lens I have managed to tweak the highlights and shadows to make then sharper and stand out more.
Overall, the mood I want this picture to have on my viewers is a positive one because this image could take them back to the time in summer where they are ready to board a plane in the UK in the cold and windy rain. All to trade it in few a few days relaxing in the glorious sun abroad.
